All three Rangers in action on day two of Men’s Olympic hockey managed to make an impression. Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 21 shots he faced to secure a 2-0 win for Sweden over a feisty German squad in his first appearance of these games, while in the first game of the day, Olli Jokinen scored Finland’s opening goal to help his team to a 5-1 win over Belarus.
In the late game, Marian Gaborik made a surprise start and scored the only goal for Slovakia, who were beaten by the neighboring Czech Republic 3-1. Former Ranger Jaromir Jagr registering a goal and an assist for the Czechs.
