David Quinn further trimmed his roster today, sending four players and two try-outs down to the Hartford Wolf Pack ahead of tonight’s final preseason game. The cuts mean there are still a number of decisions to be made following tonight’s match-up with the Flyers, including whether the likes of Neal Pionk, Lias Andersson, Filip Chytil and Vinni Lettieri will make the opening night roster. There’s also a decision in goal, with Alexandar Georgiev getting a chance to seal the backup role tonight.
Of the six, perhaps John Gilmour can feel a little disappointed. After finishing last year as a regular starter, the young defender has had a modest camp, and faced much more competition from the likes of Tony DeAngelo, Fredrik Claesson and even Brandon Crawley.
Also sent down was forward Timothy Gettinger, who showed some good play in limited opportunities. Others sent down include forwards Gabriel Fontaine and Ryan Gropp, as well as try-outs Bobby Butler and Drew Melanson.
