Forward Jesper Fast returned to practice today after being held out for par tof the fourth preseason game against the Devils on Monday. At the time head coach David Quinn and cautioned it was just for precautionary reasons, and with today’s return, he remains on track to join the operning night roster.
The news on Matt Beleskey was a little less promising though, with the winger looking to miss the start of the season and possibly much of the first month. Beleskey, who was likely in a battle with Cody McLeod for a roster spot, will now likely have to wait for an opportunity or facce the prospect of another year in the AHL.
Because Beleskey was injured during camp, he cannot be reassigned to the AHL and will likely stay with the team on Injury Reserve.
