Forward Justin Richards has been reassigned to Hartford following his appearance in last night’s 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins. Richards made in his NHL debut last season, appearing in the final regular season game and picking up an assist.
The 23 year old who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Minnesota Duluth is a two-way forward who would likely be a third/fourth liner in the NHL if he’s able to continue his development. In the last year of his entry level contract, Richards will look to continue to improve in Hartford.
With 41 players left in camp, the Ranges still have four preseason games remaining, with the next one scheduled for Friday in New Jersey against the Devils. Given the pattern of reassignments, we could perhaps see more both before and after the game.
