The Rangers returned Brandon Mashinter to the Connecticut Whale after the morning skate, and there’s remains plenty of speculation over who might actually play tonight. Chris Kreider could be a surprise starter having not played the last five games for New York after suffering a bone chip in his ankle.
Meanwhile JT Miller (NHL) and Darroll Powe (NYR) will make their debuts tonight with Miller wearing number 47 – last worn by Mike Green in 2004, and Darroll Powe assuming the number 8 worn by Brandon Prust for his three season stint with the Rangers.
In other news, Ryan Callahan practiced without limitation this morning, and while he won’t play tonight, it sounds like he might be closer to return than expected.
