It’s down to the Canadiens and Penguins for the Rangers opponent in the next round. If The Capitals complete their improbable comeback tonight, they’ll face the Penguins, and the Rangers will play Montreal. If the Flyers win, then the Rangers will head west to Pittsburgh.
Whatever the case, the Rangers will likely know who they face at around 9:30pm Eastern tonight…barring of course overtime.
Henrik Lundqvist received his third straight nomination for the Trophy, which didn’t surprise the Star Ledger, but did surprise the Swedish netminder. Lundqvist had an up and down season, but did lead the league with ten shutouts.
Evgeni Nabokov and Martin Brodeur were also nominated, with Nabokov widely expected to be the front runner for the award.
Jaromir Jagr has leant his knowledge and experience to helping Brandon Dubinsky with preparing for the playoffs. Jagr helped Dubinsky get over his nervousness in Game 1, and has been helping him with his conditioning and diet.
The Wolf Pack look to stave off elimination tonight in Game 5 of their series with the Portland Pirates. .A loss would bring to an end their season.
The only other Rangers’ prospect playing in the post season, Ryan Hillier, is expected to be back in the line-up for Game 3 with Gatineau. The Mooseheads currently trail the series 0-2.
