More news out of practice today, and it looks as if Fredrik Claesson might get his first chance as a New York Ranger tomorrow night. Head Coach David Quinn made some adjustments on deffense that could lead to both Pionk and Shattenkirk sitting out the game against the Sharks.
Since being called up last year to cover injuries and trades, Pionk has established himself as a regular player on the blueline, though he is still working on his game. After giving up eight goals on Sunday, it looks like the coach would like to see how some of the depth players on the roster will do with a bit more playing time.
If Claesson does indeed dress tomorrow, he’ll become the 23rd player the Rangers have used in just four games, and the 1055th to appear in a regular season game for the team
