No help from the Maple Leafs last night, but the Ottawa Senators came through with a 5-4 regulation win over the Montreal Canadiens. The 9th placed Florida Panthers dispatched the Leafs relatively easily 3-1, and are now just one point out of the playoffs, and two points behind the Rangers. The loss by the Canadiens means New York retains their sixth place for at least another night.
Tonight’s games to watch include Hurricanes v Islanders, Flyers v Sabres and Penguins v Kings. The Rangers will be hoping for help from the Islanders, Sabres and Kings respectively. If things break that way, then the Rangers will have a chance to tie for fourth tomorrow.
Not much in the papers today. Ryan Callahan gets a bit of a profile piece from Newsday, the Anchorage Daily News reports on the Paul Crowder signing and MLive profiles the line Carl Hagelin plays on for Michigan.
