Return of Eminger

The Rangers appear to have looked at the free agent market, and decided re-signing the known commodity was the better option. As predicted by Larry Brooks last week, the Rangers have signed Eminger for another year, albeit at the slightly lower rate of $800,000.

The move means the Rangers now have five proven defensemen on the roster and a number of candidates for the final position. Tim Erixon appears to have the edge for the final spot, and it would not be surprising to see another veteran defenseman or two invited to camp on a try-out basis.
