Following last night’s 4-0 loss to the Islanders, the Rangers have reassigned forwards Matthew Rempe (Seattle – WHL) and Karl Henriksson (Frolunda – SHL). The cuts mean that the team now have 45 players remaining on their training camp roster, with at least another 22 cuts to come.
Henriksson was the lone player expected to play in Europe this season to attend camp, and his return to Froulunda was expected at some point. The 6-7 Rempe got a bit of attention following a fight in the first prospect game with Flyers, but remains a work in progress, and will get a chance to work on that with the Thunderbirds.
While there is no schedule for further cuts, it would not surprise to see more after Tuesday night’s game against the Boston Bruins.
