Defenseman Aaron Johnson Follows CBJ Connection

The Rangers made their second move, adding depth defenseman Aaron Johnson to their roster.  The former Blue Jackets 2001 third pick, joins his eighth NHL franchise, rejoining former team mates Rick NashDerek Dorsett and Derrick Brassard, as well as former head coach Scott Arniel.

Johnson has appeared in 291 NHL games, with 17 goals, 41 assists and 227 penalty minutes.  His career high four goals came in 2009-10 when he split time between the Oilers and Flames, while he put up 16 points in his second stint with the Blue Jackets in 2010-11.

He has only played 10 NHL games over the past two seasons however.  In 2011-12, he was relegated to the minors for the Nashville Predators, and last season he saw just 10 games with the Boston Bruins.

Terms of his deal are reported to be 1 year and $600,000.
