Veteran defensenman Adam McQuaid is nearing return, and could be available in two weeks according to head coach David Quinn. McQuaid has been out of the line-up since October 25th when he suffered an undisclosed lower-body injury that has kept him from playing, and he is yet to resume practicing with the team.
Acquired before the season started from Boston, the 32-year-old Canadian is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this year. The Rangers have managed some success in his absence, though have lost three of their last four games including being shutout by both the Flyers and Senators while giving up three or more goals in the three losses.
